A propiedade intelectual na sociedade dixital: conclusións

Reproducimos o interesantísimo texto de conclusións do Simposio O Libro e a Lectura celebrada arredor do tema «A propiedade intelectual e a sociedade dixital»:

“Ao remate do VIII Simposio do Libro e a Lectura, centrado este ano no tema “A propiedade intelectual na sociedade dixital”, a Asociación Galega de Editores (AGE) quere facer públicas as seguintes conclusións:

1. En primeiro lugar, valoramos moi positivamente o debate plural e diverso das voces que nos acompañaron durante estes dous días para falar dun tema clave para a industrai editorial: a propiedade intelectual na sociedade dixital, facendo nosas as aportacións dos nosos convidados e convidadas.

2. O sector do libro galego é consciente de que nos adentramos aceleradamente nunha sociedade inequivocamente dixital, sociedade que supón cambios de paradigmas para a industria cultural, que transforma os hábitos de acceso ao coñecemento, á información, e crea novas formas de relación co libro e a lectura e, sobre todo, pon en valor novos xeitos de editar e comercializar, distribuír e comunicar o libro.

3. A edición galega debe facer un esforzo por asumir e entender as transformacións que a sociedade dixital propulsa, adaptándose ás súas demandas e respondendo con solvencia aos seus retos, entre os que un novo xeito de entender a propiedade intelectual constitúe unha tarefa primorcial.

4. Tal e como manifestamos no VI Simposio, dedicado ao libro dixital, desde a AGE vemos a necesidade de desenvolver fórmulas que garantan os lexítimos dereitos da propiedade intelectual, que son a base do funcionamento da industria do libro e da creación, e queremos facelo consensuadamente e sen lesionar os dereitos dos usuarios, favorecendo de xeito especial o dereito á nova educación líquida que responde a un novo tempo.

5. Os editores somos os primeiros interesados atopar o xusto equilibro entre a divulgación da cultura, que é o que dota de sentido o noso traballo, e o dereito á retribución que garante a propiedade intelectual. Nese sentido, os editores galegos demandamos aos responsables políticos a urxente elaboración dunha nova Lei de Propiedade Intelectual acorde cos usos e necesidades que dicta a sociedade dixital.

6. Na nova sociedade dixital, cada editor ten dereito a elixir o seu propio modelo de negocio con respecto á xestión da propiedade intelectual, e a coexistencia de modelos diferentes non é excluínte senón enriquecedora.

7. Todo o sector do libro debe traballar conxuntamente para transmitirlle á sociedade unha idea positiva, de progreso e modernidade, arredor dun concepto de propiedade intelectual capaz de abordar os novos ámbitos que abre a cultura dixital, e entendendo que non é posible solucionar os problemas que se plantexan sen un pacto que implique a todas as políticas culturais.

8. A AGE desexa mostrar publicamente o seu agradecemento a CEDRO e ao Consello da Cultura Galega, principais co-patrocinadores deste Simposio do Libro e a Lectura, así como a todos os convidados nesta VIII edición, aos que parabenizamos pola súa magníficia disposición. O próximo ano estaremos novamente nesta cita xa ineludible para os profesionais do sector do libro en Galicia.
